The FDGE9 Discharge Coil is a single-phase indoor semi-enclosed dry-type unit manufactured by epoxy resin vacuum casting. As a reliable FDGE9 Discharge Coil, it is widely matched with high-voltage shunt capacitor banks within power systems with rated voltage up to 12 kV and rated frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz.... Once the capacitor bank is disconnected from the main grid, this device can bring residual voltage of capacitors down to safe levels within 5 seconds, which protects on-site operators from electric shock hazards caused by stored electric charge.
During regular service conditions, its secondary winding can serve for local voltage indication. Upon customer-specific requirements, the FDGE9 Discharge Coil can be fitted with extra residual-voltage windings to implement relay protection functions for capacitor loops. Its cast-epoxy housing delivers good resistance against moisture and contamination, adapting to typical indoor substation environments. The secondary terminal block is rationally arranged for convenient field wiring. Mounting holes and grounding studs are reserved on the base plate for fast installation and reliable earthing connection.
Following DL/T 653 industry standard for discharge coils applied to shunt capacitors, this dry-type coil requires minimal routine maintenance; only occasional surface cleaning is needed. Compact footprint and stable electrical performance make it a preferred auxiliary component for reactive-power compensation cabinets and medium-voltage capacitor banks in distribution networks.
